Break-in at home of Staten Island judge

From the Staten Island by Doug Auer

The Richmond home of a Staten Island judge was burglarized tonight.

The front door of Democratic Civil Court Judge Kim Dollard's home on St. George Road was discovered kicked in by an eagle-eyed neighbor who called 911 at about 6:15 p.m., police said.

A shadowy silhouette was also seen moving about the home, according to police. The suspect, clad in black, managed to escape. Mrs. Dollard and her husband, James, an attorney, were not home at the time of the break-in. The couple could not be reached for comment. It wasn't immediately released whether any items had been removed.

Within minutes, the NYPD responded with a K-9 unit to sniff the property's grounds and a helicopter to search the nearby wooded areas. Also, the front door of the home was dusted for fingerprints by an evidence collection team.
